Hi! My name is Leslie. I am a third generation Airstream owner, passing down a love of adventure to the next generation. I am a registered nurse who quit my job to become a stay-at-home mom. When my 3rd pregnancy resulted in twins (and my boys were ages 4 and 2 at the twins’ birth!), I knew I’d be a SAHM indefinitely. With our little nest now full, I also knew that it was time for us to start looking for an Airstream to call our own. After two years of daily research, we found and bought our beloved Monkey Barrel—a 2002 30’ Classic with a (rare!) slide out. We named her the Monkey Barrel; in part because of the fun monkey-themed upholstery, but mostly because when the six of us are inside, it truly is more fun than a barrel of monkeys!

Before I got married and had 4 kids before our 5th wedding anniversary, I was known among family and friends as “Nomad Leslie,” the girl who was always on the go. Pregnancy and a homebody husband stalled that lifestyle for a while, but I knew that my traveling days weren’t completely over. I knew that adventure for me, and my family, was still out there, waiting for us. I knew there was a balance that we just hadn’t found yet.

We’re much closer to that balance than we were before the Monkey Barrel, and as the kids get older, finding that balance has become easier and easier. We’re still finding our way, finding our balance, and it would be disingenuous for me to say otherwise.

I started this blog to share our adventures as a family and to encourage others to follow their dreams of finding a balance between life, family, and travel, whatever that may look like for you.
While this blog isn’t exclusively about Airstreams, they are a passion of mine. If you’re interested in Airstreams and learning more about them, you’ve come to the right place! Let me know how I can help you.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you stay awhile, maybe learn something new or get inspired to seek adventure in your own way.
I am looking forward to reading more of your blog and reliving these wonderful experiences with you.
